Scribe defines the ability to output content into multiple formats as multipurpose publishing. Multipurpose publishing is a major component of the Well-Formed Document Manager (WFDM), and currently the main focus of Scribe’s development. Scribe has a suite of programs and scripts that allow users of the Well-Formed Document Workflow (WFDW) to automatically convert to and from various formats into ScML. Those expressing interest in the WFDM site the need to be able utilize, in a user-friendly manner, the system as a multipurpose publishing tool. In order to meet the needs of those whose content is contained within the system, Scribe’s multipurpose publishing tools will be integrated within the system.
Due to the structure on which the system is built, the ability to serve content on the Web is be immediately available. But it is important to be able to provide content in ways that will fit the “publishing” programs of participants.
Participants might need to provide materials to content aggregators, may wish to publish books or e-books from the Content Management System (CMS), or may wish their content to be available within Bible study software systems. Scribe has developed tools to enable this.
The output engine will automatically provide the base formatting for popular desktop publishing systems, HTML, e-book platforms, MobiPocket (Kindle), and, for the religious publishing market, many common Bible study software engines (including: Libronix, Laridian, WordSearch ready HTML, BibleWorks, and others).
