There are several types of data and interfaces that must be managed in the Well-Formed Document Manager (WFDM). The Web interface, and rubric under which all functionality is organized, uses the open source Drupal content management system. Within Drupal, the access protocol, main database and content management, version control, and editor are accessed.
The core of the system is a content repository, or content management system (CMS) built upon the extant, and open source, PhiloLogic system. PhiloLogic allows for searching, retrieval, and display of materials house within a relational database. This system provides a framework to allow for the management of the content. It is the system into which all WFD content is imported. And, is the system that is used to gather material for exporting into multipurpose WFD. Exported WFD content will be the basis for all other versions.
